I chose stunning Fanta orange sapphires roundels to set off the great color changing Czochralski alexandrite gemstones! Wrapped entirely in sterling silver wire, by me, of course. I wrapped smaller sapphires around the top of the alexandrites. I then added clusters of the sapphires up to the sterling silver lever back ear wires.
These show stopping earrings are just over 2 inches long.
Czochralski (the method of creation) alexandrites (chrysoberyl) are lab grown gemstones. They are very close in chemical make up to their natural (grown in the earth) and extremely expensive cousins ($$$$). Lab grown alexandrites change from a plummy purple in fluorescent light to a deep cornflower blue in sunlight. Natural alexandrites change from a raspberry to a emerald green.
