Silver dragonfly pendant, handmade recycled fine silver gingko leaf dragonfly # 2 with blue sapphire-OOAK

A fine silver dragonfly sporting gingko leaves for wings! I made the leaves by painting silver paste to the back of gingko leaves. I thought they would make great wings for a dragonfly!
I started with the Art Nouveau textured teardrop background and added the gingko leaf wings. I then made the antennae, and added the cerulean blue sapphire for the head. I created the body, with little balls of silver and embellished it with syringe clay.
After the front was done, I added the bail to the backside, and included another blue spinel, signed it and then fired.
After it came out of the kiln, and tumbler, I gave it an antique patina, then buffed the back plate to bring out the details.
The specimen style pendant is 1 3/8 x 1 1/8 inches, or 36mm x 28mm.
Pendant comes with an 18 inch sterling silver snake chain.
This is the second of my gingko leaf insect series.

A note on precious metal clay:
ArtClay silver is a recycled product that consists of fine silver particles suspended in an organic binder. The clay can be worked like other forms of clay, sculpted to almost any shape you desire. The product is then fired at an extremely high temperature, either by kiln or torch. The binder burns away resulting in a pure silver (.999) piece.
